Compartment
There are three types of compartments to choose from.
Seats are the cheapest option. You spend the night while seated, in a seat that reclines 45 degrees, with individual arm and foot rests. The seats are not in a separate compartment but rather in a large, open car where there are dozens of other seats, similar to a regular train. The toilets are located in the corridor.
2nd class couchettes are compartments for 6 people and offer more comfort than seats. During the day you sit in a regular seat. At night you can transform the benches into six individual sleeping berths. Each berth has a light sleeping bag, a pillow, a bottle of water and a travel kit with wet wipes, socks and earplugs. Men and women travel mixed, except in the women-only compartment. The toilet and washrooms are located in the corridor. You can also book the entire compartment privately so you don't have to share it with other travelers.
1st class couchettes can accommodate up to four persons. During the day you sit in a regular seat. At night you can transform the benches into four individual sleeping berths (two upper, two lower). Each couchette has a light sleeping bag, a pillow, a bottle of water and a travel kit with wet wipes, socks and earplugs. Men and women travel mixed, except in the women-only compartment. The toilet and washrooms are located in the hallway. You can also book the entire compartment privately so you don't have to share it with other travelers. Upon arrival in the morning, travellers in first class couchettes have free access to the shower facilities in the stations of Paris Gare d' Austerlitz and Toulouse-Matabiau.
All compartments can be locked from the inside and have amenities such as adjustable air conditioning, reading lights and power outlets.
