Montpellier
Montpellier is a city in the south of France, where historical heritage and modern architecture go hand in hand. The local university is one of the oldest in Europe and Montpellier is a real student city, where more than 50,000 young people pursue their higher studies.
There is much to discover in the wider region around Montpellier. The Mediterranean Sea is barely 10 kilometers away from the city. Further inland, the Cevennes National Park, with its unspoilt mountain landscapes, is highly recommended for nature lovers. Finally, the Camargue nature reserve, known for its wild horses and pink flamingos, is barely an hour's drive from the city.
There is a direct night train between Paris and Montpellier. It is one of the stops on the Paris-Cerbère night train route.
